About this contract
NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board ("BOB") are seeking to commission suitably qualified providers who have the capability and capacity to deliver BCG Pathway Services in line with requirements across the Oxfordshire footprint. The service will be procured as three lots. Bidders can bid for one or more lots. Lot 1: Children's BCG Community Service (0-1 years) Lot 2: BCG Service (1-16 years) Lot 3: Newborn Blood Spot Screening Programme Lot 1: Children's BCG Community Service (0-1 years) and Lot 3: Newborn Blood Spot Screening Programme are currently commissioned by NHS England. Lot 2: BCG Service (1-16 years) is currently commissioned by NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICB. This is a collaborative commissioning between NHSE and NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICB. If all lots are awarded to one provider the ICB will act as Lead commissioner for all three lots and all invoicing will be directly made to NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West ICB. If the outcome of this procurement process results in lots being awarded to different providers, BOB ICB reserves the right to delegate NHS England as the Lead Commissioner for one or more lots. The aim of this local service is to provide vaccination to those eligible, as per service specs, who may have missed the routine offer at birth. The aim of the BCG Immunisation Programme is to protect those who are at an increased risk from exposure to and developing human tuberculosis, which may result in serious illness or premature death. This service is expected to provide a Newborn Blood Spot Screening (NBBS) service to those who have been identified as not previously receiving the service and have moved into the Oxfordshire area. The contract period offered for each lot will be for a period of 12 months commencing 1st November 2024. A standard NHS contract will be used for each lot of this service. The total financial envelope is £50,000 over the 12-month duration. The deadline for the receipt of tenders is 12 noon 06 September 2024. This exercise is being carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioner.
