About this contract
Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) and North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) (the Authorities) are seeking a partner or partners to realise a shared vision to make Harrogate District 'smart'. The local authorities would like to deploy wireless network infrastructure across Harrogate and other selected parts of North Yorkshire - and utilise this new connectivity to deliver innovative outcomes linked to local objectives around place management, the economy and public services. This procurement exercise is to procure a Wireless Managed Services partner to enable wireless infrastructure and deliver initiatives associated with smart destination management. The role of the Managed Service Provider is as follows: • Install and operate an outdoor public access Wi-Fi across defined areas of the region • The design, installation, management and maintenance of one or more district-wide LPWANs (including a LoRaWAN) to support IoT deployment and associated solutions • The collation, management and presentation of data from the above platforms (including pedestrian monitoring) • The ability to deliver a portfolio of 'smart city 'solutions or to work with other commercial solutions providers in an integration role
