About this contract
'The University of Derby is seeking completed Pre Qualification Questionnaires from interested parties with the skills, expertise and experience to refurbish our St Helena site in Chesterfield. The St. Helena Complex is located on Sheffield Road, Chesterfield S41 7LL, the property, built in 1909 with a floor area is circa 3 116 sq. m (33 542 sq. ft.), was originally a Girls School and has since unofficially been used as offices. On completion, this development will provide: learning spaces; business incubation units and the equipping of innovation labs providing students and employers with access to the latest digital and engineering technologies, with the intent of delivering a step change in higher level vocational skills (including higher apprenticeships) and will thus support the economic growth and resilience of businesses and the workforce in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire. This will be achieved by providing new, local routes to vocational higher-level skills. Flexible provision will be determined by employer and learner needs and will focus on STEM subjects including an innovation and enterprise offer. The Chesterfield Centre will be operational in June 2016 with innovative vocational provision designed to inspire learners, raise employability and engage employers.'
