Digital Health and Care Wales (“DHCW”) is seeking to procure a Third-Party Provider Accreditation Service to support DHCW with the assessment of suppliers and their products that may wish to integrate with the NHS Wales App. The NHS Wales App has been developed to act as a gateway for patient facing digital services in health and care in Wales. The solution envisages building some functionality within the core of the NHS Wales App and in other cases, integrating with solutions provided by third parties. DHCW anticipates that a large number of patient-facing digital services and solutions will remain independent to the NHS Wales App. Many of these unconnected services will still offer benefit to the users of the NHS Wales App and as such, a level of signposting to these services will be provided within the NHS Wales App. Initially this signposting will be a list of digital services displayed in the App, sorted by categories and with some basic search and filtering functionality. In time, more specific signposting to digital services is envisaged based on the specific health needs of individuals or groups of patients. To provide this signposting, it will be important to undertake a level of due diligence to ensure that the services that are being identified meet a minimum set of standards. The assessment of Suppliers and their products forms the basis of the services required under this contract. The requirements are defined such that the successful service provider will act as an ambassador for the programme and for DHCW, representing DHCW through Supplier engagement activities and supporting Suppliers as they progress through the Accreditation Process.
