About this contract

We expect the focus of the technology road mapping to be on equipment associated with chemical separation and finishing operations (i.e. the spent fuel reprocessing). The management of waste, especially High-Level Wastes, will be a key feature of any future reprocessing facility, and this topic is expected to be encompassed by the waste management section of the Nuclear Innovation Programme rather than this project. As part of the project a lead industry contractor will bring on board further industry sub-contractors/partner organisations to provide a wide ranging and suitably encompassing industry view.
