About this contract

NHS SBS are acting on behalf of NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group ('the CCG') to obtain a Provider to deliver a Direct Access Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) Scanning Service for the Population of Bolton. The expected outcomes from this service are: •Timely community access to diagnostic services for NHS Bolton CCG registered patients; •Improved access and diagnostic waiting times for patients; •Improved patient satisfaction and experience; •Reduced demand on acute care diagnostic services, supporting improvements in national diagnostic waiting time standards; •Reduced need for GP referral to secondary care, by way of clinical reporting that meets the need of the GP referrer; •Reduced need for repeat diagnostic tests, by way of building integrated relationships with NHS Bolton FT (BFT), to ensure clinical images & reporting meet secondary care requirements; •Robust end to end DEXA referral / care pathways; •Robust integrated care pathways developed between DEXA service provider, NHS BFT & NHS Bolton CCG - specifically to support patient groups requiring baseline scans as part of local step down / transition arrangements, from secondary care to primary care (eg breast cancer patients) . The Affordability Threshold (including any potential extensions) is £485,000 including CQUIN and the Contract will be for a duration of 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years.
