About this contract

It is the Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) intention to procure Termination of Pregnancy Services. The contract period will be for 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years. North East Essex CCG recognises how important it is that our stakeholders are informed and engaged in respect of this service. The CCG has taken the opportunity to review the current service specification and model with a view to making service improvements which have been informed by engagement with service users and providers. The CCG is looking to simplify the existing pathway so there is greater consistency, and provision of care closer to home. The successful Provider will be expected to manage the following aspects of Terminations of Pregnancy service: • Terminations <24 weeks (unless excluded under this contract) • Sexual Health advice, information and signposting Contraception and birth control (i.e. IUD) • Any women who chooses not to be seen within an NHS trust for: *Evacuation of products of conception from uterus. Pathways and processes will be developed as part of the mobilisation period; *Miscarriage <10 weeks. Pathways and processes will be developed as part of the mobilisation period. • Sexual health testing • Chlamydia • HIV testing The commissioned pathway will be inclusive of: • Integrated/partnership working with stakeholders (including supporting referrers and signposting) • Pre-Procedural Assessment (Inc. counselling) • Sexual health testing • Termination of Pregnancy Procedure • Follow up (Inc. counselling) To express an interest in tendering for this service and access the Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and all other information concerning the procurement, please go to the Bravo website at: https://attain.bravosolution.co.uk. The closing date for submitting ITT bids is 12:00 noon on 25th February 2016. Additional information: The procurement process will be an Open procedure. Regulation 120 of the 2015 Regulations exempt CCGs from the requirements of the new regulations for the procurement of healthcare services commenced before 18 April 2016. Therefore, the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (as amended) apply to the conduct of this procurement exercise. However, neither the use of the term Invitation to Tender nor any other indication shall be taken to mean that the CCG intends to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations save those applicable to Part B Services.
