TENDER BRIEF Cumbria Business Growth Hub Family Business Network 1. Aims and objectives This tender is issued by the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce as part of Cumbria Business Growth Hub. The Growth Hub is aimed at encouraging and supporting business growth throughout Cumbria. Following the successful family business network established under the previous ERDF project, we would like to continue to offer specialist support for family businesses across the County. The aim is to provide a relevant range of support and services to family businesses to help them to grow and increase their competitiveness, creating the jobs and improved performance needed to boost economic growth, working in cooperation with the wider project. The delivery organisation will be expected to provide a Family Business Network, as a minimum: • Running the family business network, working constructively with other elements of the Growth Hub Project • Recruiting eligible clients to the network • Arranging and running an appropriate range of activities for eligible Cumbrian family run businesses including, but not limited to, events and networking • Developing the online family business area of web portal, including appropriate content, and drive the use of this, including forum activity The delivery organisation may choose to suggest further activities. One-to-one support will be offered through the wider project, not through the network. 2. Background Through the Cumbria Growth Hub partners are working together to exploit Cumbria’s talents and expertise, building on the county’s entrepreneurial culture and existing networks, implementing new approaches and ensuring investment and interventions are targeted at key issues and opportunities, to grow a truly enterprising and successful rural economy and become a national beacon for what is achievable. See www.cumbriagrowthhub.com The Growth Hub offers a one-stop-shop for business support, identified as a national exemplar, with an expanding range of online tools, information and opportunities, plus a range of business support, advice, networking, workshops and events, specific programmes and access to subsidies, all tailored to business needs.
