About this contract

Somerset Council have a duty under the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984, section 46 to cause to be buried or cremated the body of any person who has died or been found dead in our area where it appears that no suitable arrangements are being made.  Somerset Council are seeking Public Health Funeral Services for a period of three years with the option to extend it for a further 2 year. The authority has broken up this tender into 4 different lots depending on Geographical location which are: Lot 1 - Somerset North (Former Sedgemoor District Council area) Lot 2 - Somerset South (Former South Somerset District Council are) Lot 3 - Somerset East (Former Mendip District Council area) Lot 4 - Somerset West (Former Somerset West and Taunton District Council area)
