About this contract
North Somerset Council?s Turning the Tide Social Impact Bond (SIB) aims to reduce the need for children to be looked after by commissioning a service that works with families to help children safely stay at home and by keeping placements in care short through reuniting children with their families as soon as possible The service will focus on improving family functioning and resilience to improve outcomes for an estimated 240 children over an initial five year period with an opportunity to extend the contract to seven years. We have explored family preservation models but would be interested in any approaches that would deliver the outcomes. Families to be worked with will fall into two specific cohorts as follows: Cohort 1 - Families with a child aged 10 ? 17 currently looked after under s.20 of the Children?s Act (1989) and with a plan to return home. Cohort 2 - Families with a child aged 10 - 17 on the edge of care and at imminent risk of becoming looked after on a voluntary basis. Using a payment by results model, service provider/s will receive payments linked to key primary outcomes such as: - the child being reunited with the family and returning to the family home (cohort 1) - Improved measured family functioning and child well-being - the child remains home with their family (cohort 2) - Improved measured family functioning and children well-being Additional information: This procurement is being managed via our online procurement portal www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk.
