About this contract
Hampshire County Council invites applications from suitably experienced organisations who wish to tender for a service to deliver smoking, alcohol and substance use guidance and awareness training to teaching staff to enable them to deliver appropriate smoking alcohol and substance use training to young people as part of a whole school/ whole organisation approach. The Services being tendered comprise two Lots Lot 1 - services relating to prevention of smoking with young people Lot 2 - services relating to alcohol and drug use Tenderers may choose to tender for: Lot 1 and Lot 2 or, for Lot 1 only or, for Lot 2 only The Services are each part of a wider Health in Educational Settings Project that supports the Council's Public Health Strategy Towards a Healthier Hampshire - A Strategy for Improving the Public Health 2016-21 vision, "Healthy, happy and resilient communities now and for the future generations in Hampshire". The provision of the Services will also support schools to deliver relationship and sex education (RSE) and personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) including the statutory content of Relationship Education, Relationship and Sex Education and Health Education (to be implemented 2020). Lot 1 is to provide guidance and to deliver tailored training for staff in educational settings on smoking and vaping. This will increase the capacity of such staff to adopt a whole school or whole organisation approach to smoking and vaping and to deliver age appropriate smoking and vaping education to young people. Lot 2 is to deliver tailored alcohol and drug misuse awareness training to staff in educational settings. This will increase the capacity of such staff to adopt a whole school or whole organisation approach to alcohol and drug use and to deliver age appropriate alcohol and drug use education to young people The Contract will commence on 1st February 2020.
