About this contract

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that was established in April 2004 to takeover the management of housing services on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC). SCH's responsibilities include the management and maintenance of the Councils' housing stock. This portfolio includes houses, maisonettes, high-rise and low-rise flats, sheltered accommodation and community centres. SCH also has a commercial arm called SCH Better Places, which delivers works and services for other businesses, authorities and private individuals. SCH Better Places occasionally engages SCH appointed contractors for completion of works and the successful Contractor may be required to deliver works within the terms and conditions of his contract with SCH. SCH has commenced the process of procuring a contract for the replacement of apartment windows to four high rise properties located within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull. The required Works are to include, but not be limited to: a) Surveying of properties b) Supply and installation of UPVC apartment windows c) Tenant/resident liaison, including the management of appointments SCH anticipates that the Contract shall commence 1 May 2020 and will be in place for an initial period up until 31st March 2021; and subject to performance, there will be an option for SCH to further extend this period by up to two 12 month periods until 31st March 2023. SCH estimates the total value of the Contract to be in the region of ?800k - ?850k per annum. The programme of Works and the number of high rise properties to which the Works are to be undertaken in the first year will be agreed with the successful Contractor. Subsequent works each following year will be determined by the available budget. No guarantee of volume, value, duration or continuity of the Works can be given and no subsequent claims for loss of profit or earnings will be entertained; all information within this ITT document is given in good faith and should not therefore be used as the basis of any calculation. Contractors are deemed to have visited the Contract Area covered by the Works in order to be thoroughly acquainted with the area, the type of properties and equipment involved and the conditions under which the Works will have to be carried out. No claim made by the Contractor will be allowed on the grounds of deficiency of knowledge in such matters. On-site Briefing Session Note that an on-site briefing is to be held on Thursday 19 December 2019 (time to be confirmed). Contractors who wish to attend the briefing must confirm their attendance through the CSW-JETS portal. Further details will be provided following receipt of confirmation.
