About this contract
Rescue Motor Launch (RML) 497 is a 1941 craft that served with the Coastal Forces during WW2. She is due to be lifted out of the water and then barged up to Hartlepool where she will lie in the car park of the Museum for 3 years whilst a permanent indoor building is built for her. Dimensions (when on a cradle): 35m long x 8m wide x 8m high. We require a temporary building to cover the vessel for a minimum of 3 years. It needs to be able to withstand a marine environment with wind and salt water nearby. The building is anticipated for final installation autumn 2018 upon arrival of the vessel. The building is also required to cover a steam engine with dimensions 9m long x 3m wide x 6m high. Ideally we would like you to sell or rent, deliver, erect and offer a maintenance contract for the cover. It should be noted that the Employer may not necessarily award the contract to the lowest priced tenderer.
