About this contract

The council has made a commitment to do things with residents rather than to them, which means it needs more sophisticated engagement tools. It wishes to engage with local residents in particular on on housing estate regeneration as well as on wider issues affecting local people. REQUIREMENTS 1. A proven track record in delivering successful community engagement on complex and sensitive projects, specifically including housing regeneration initiatives. 2. A proven track record in managing complex opinion research, including focus groups and community events. 3. The capacity to turn around work to tight timetables when required and to respond flexibly to unfolding events. 4. A history of working rapidly to understand the issues locally and to provide strategic advice that effectively supports us in meeting our objectives. To undertake this community engagement, the council is looking to appoint a specialist agency with a proven track record of developing rapport and building trust with residents through innovative and meaningful engagement and communication. One of the priorities of the administration is to develop engaged and empowered communities by offering local residents the opportunity to have a say about decisions and services, and provide genuine opportunities for residents to be involved. A pressing need has been identified through previous engagement work to more fully engage with residents and to address their concerns, so as to promote community cohesion, but also to ensure local people have the information and support they need to take full advantage of the employment, social and cultural opportunities available in the borough.
