About this contract
The Inclusive Smart Solutions programme aims to create a better understanding of the opportunities and barriers faced by Low Income and Vulnerable consumers in the transition to a smart and flexible energy system and develop solutions that aim to address these challenges. It will include up to four collaborative projects developing a range of innovative solutions to enable the participation of Low Income and Vulnerable consumers to the greatest extent possible in the future energy system. A budget of up to £100,000 is available for projects working on innovative solutions supporting Low Income and Vulnerable consumers in the UK to benefit from the future smart, flexible energy system. This programme is designed to foster business opportunities dedicated to developing inclusive energy solutions. It provides the unique chance to develop solutions through iterative consumer testing to reach a solution low-income and vulnerable consumers want and need. Successful applicants will be put through a 12-month programme to help their product or service become market-viable. This could include support with consumer insights, go-to-market strategy, business mentoring and more. A smart energy system is vital for reaching Net Zero. Help shape the energy landscape of tomorrow, where innovation ensures no one is left behind. The Inclusive Smart Solutions programme is funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero's Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP) and is led by Energy Systems Catapult with support from the Carbon Trust, Ipsos and TPX Impact.
