About this contract
NHSBT currently use a PK7300 primary blood grouping machine. The water must be provided from a high quality reverse-osmosis and/or de-ioniser system of CAP II level, with low levels of particle, bacterial and organic contamination. Connection is via reinforced PVC hose of internal diameter (bore) 12 mm, and external diameter 18 mm. The water supply should be as close as possible to the analyser, to minimise the growth of organisms in the hose. There must be a shut off valve and waste drain port within 7m of the instrument and the hose for water supply and waste must be shorter than 7 meters. Manufacturers will have a proven track record in a similar environment to the Authority and any equipment/ reagents must be validated before by the service before use. All suppliers will be assessed against a standardised set of evaluation criteria prior to the equipment being accepted for use within the service If a company tendering fails to meet an Essential (Must) criteria of this specification then Authority reserves the right to reject the tender without further consideration/ assessment."
