About this contract
Urology is a speciality specifically identified by the Department of Health (DH) as being suitable for the relocation of a large proportion of work from secondary to primary care under the 'Shifting Care Closer to Home' Policy. Urological problems are common and create a significant burden of work for primary care. The community urology service was commissioned to offer a single point of referral for all urology referrals for Gloucestershire patients. NHS Gloucestershire CCG (GCCG) wishes to re-commission a community urology service to manage conditions that do not require specialist intervention at secondary level. This will enable improved patient flow through urology services and support the management of an increasing demand for acute services. The current contract is due to expire at the end of September 2018. GCCG is looking for suitably qualified and experienced providers to continue with the provision and development of a range of high quality services which are currently delivered in the community setting. The service will offer assessment and treatments at clinics at several locations in the county under the care of a consultant-led team. It will also include the provision of minor surgical procedures. GCCG intends to award a new contract for an initial period of 3 years with option to extend for a further 2 year period. Organisations interested in providing this service should register on the In-Tend e-procurement portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/gloucestershireccg) and express interest no later than noon, Monday 5 March 2018. Associated Standard Selection Questionnaire (SSQ) documentation will then be made available for bidding organisations to access. Competed SSQ submissions must be returned via the In-Tend portal no later than noon, Monday 12 March 2018.
