About this contract

UK Biobank require Suppliers who can supply printing and small-scale mailing services to a high standard of reliability in both delivery and product quality, at a competitive price. UK Biobank will consider options for printing and mailing that meet the specification requirements, but are also environmentally friendly, represent value for money and easier to manage than traditional print and mailing options. UK Biobank require suppliers to print and send a copy of its annual Newsletter by post to about 160,000 of its participants. In addition, it will store 10,000 newsletters for future use, including sending the Newsletter to an anticipated 5,000 participants whose email Newsletters will have not been received ("bounce-backs"). The Newsletter is an 8-page, A4, 4-colour newsletter, and a personalised letter on the UK Biobank letterhead. Other material may also need to be included for distribution, such as 2-sided flyers. In addition, UK Biobank requires additional ad-hoc mailing services. These include small-scale mailing of letters to GP practices, for example, and the purchase of stationery such as envelopes, printed maps and leaflets for mailings completed in-house by UK Biobank. In the future this may also include printing of participant questionnaires. It may also include other stationery for various UK Biobank projects throughout the year, as and when required.
