About this contract
The Council is procuring a contractor to deliver the Prince?s Gate Scheme within the Council?s timescales and budget envelope and in particular within the timescales set out in the Agreement for Lease with Marks and Spencer. The Prince?s Gate Scheme comprises of the following: ? - Anchor tenant store and up to four further retail units on Site A; ? - Under-croft/ underground car parking and service yard on Site A; ? - Food store, with residential/ hotel* units above and decked level car parking on site C; ? - Landscaping, public realm and external works across both Sites A and C; ? - Improvements to the highway and to pedestrian crossings on Prince St and Roscoe St; ? - Residential/ hotel fit-out to units above food store; ? - Fit out to smaller retail units (not anchor store or food store); - Service diversions to both sites A and C. Fit out of the residential/hotel and smaller retail units currently forms part of this opportunity but may be omitted(in whole or part). Bidders will be notified as soon as possible during dialogue as to which of these fit-out options are being taken forward. A more detailed overview of the Prince?s Gate opportunity can be found in the Design and Access Statement and other Procurement documents included within the Data Room. Oldham Council submitted a planning application in May 2015 (with a subsequent non material amendment in February 2016 for a retail led mixed use scheme, anchored by Marks and Spencer (?M&S?). The scheme which totals 18,178 sq. m (gross internal), involves 2 prominent, neighbouring, sites (totalling 6.21 acres) in the Mumps opposite the Metrolink station, 600m east of the Spindles Shopping Centre. The planning application is expected to be considered by the planning committee on 20th April. The latest site plan is included within the design information in the Design and Access Statement.
