About this contract
Forestry Commission, North England Forest District wish to establish a contract for ground preparation work in order to deliver a time–bound programme of work as safely and effectively as possible and at optimum value Expressions of interest are sought from suitably experienced and competent contractors to carry out ground preparation work within remote forest blocks across North Forest England District. The works will need to be completed over 4 months to allow for subsequent operations. There is an option of a similar quantity in the following year, if operations are completed to a satisfactory standard. The work is predominantly although not restricted to North Lancashire, North and West Cumbria. Majority of ground preparation work will be trench/scratch mounding, creating a minimum of 2700 mounds per net hectare, to a uniform pattern. The contract will also include additional mounding carried out to a number of lower densities with varying layouts. Other operations to include brash raking, drainage, formation of access tracks and shooting mounds.
