About this contract
Brighton and Hove CCG require that this support service for people affected by cancer will work as part of the cancer care pathway to strengthen interventions provided to ensure that cancer survivors feel supported, have an improved quality of life and reduce risk factors attributed to lifestyle choice. This supports recommendation 7 and 9 within the Independent Cancer Taskforce Review. The Provider shall: • Support people to carry out and sustain levels of physical activity. • Provide a range of physical activity programmes. • Increase the number of people living with and beyond cancer carrying out physical activity. • Raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity and other lifestyle choices for people with, or living with and beyond cancer participating in physical activity. • Deliver activities and information to people with, or living with and beyond cancer in a way that is meaningful and relevant to them. The service is required to commence 1st September 2017 and the contract period will be 3 years from commencement of the service with an option of Brighton and Hove CCG to extend by up to a further 24 months. The contract value indicated is for the three years of the primary contract period.
