About this contract
The main building (01) electrical busbar system and parts of its distribution system has been in place for over 50 years and is in need of statutory testing and maintenance. Although currently safe to operate, there is a need to carry out testing on the Busbar, associated cabling (including testing of new Acti boards already fitted) and replace obsolete distribution boards within the service floor and basement. In broad terms, the scope of this project is to carry out a series of tests on the existing Busbar and downstream circuits, replace all existing obsolete MEM distribution boards with Isobar Schneider Acti 9, replace the Lecture Theatre (LT) LV switch-board main isolating switch with a new Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) and carry out LV maintenance on LT LV switchgear. The contractor is to be supply all parts, plant, equipment and labour required to carry out the works. Provide and manage all generator back up as required. To be demonstrated at tender stage. Provide all contingency in the event of power no being able to be restored in any area as required. To be demonstrated at tender stage. Pre-work surveys must be carried out by the contractor to satisfy themselves of the scope. Issue of all test certification, update, O&M's, H&S File on completion of each zone. The contractor will act in the role of PC and PD if required. The works will take place during week long shut-downs, January - September 2019, corresponding to an area of the main busbar.
