About this contract

Panel for consideration of Discretionary Property Purchase scheme applications. HS2 is seeking to appoint 24 independent panel members. Due to the exceptional nature of the HS2 project, the Government believes that it should go further than required by law to assist affected property owners living in proximity to the proposed route of HS2. As such, HS2 Ltd has implemented a package of discretionary schemes to work alongside the Compensation Code. The Government will be appointing a small number of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds to a panel to assess applications for assistance from people living near the proposed route of HS2. This is an important role and independent panel members will make recommendations to senior officials and Ministers who are responsible for the final decision. Cases being reviewed will come from property owners who can show that they have a compelling reason to sell their property, but are unable to do so because of HS2. Panel members would typically attend for a whole day (currently at a location in central London) and also review their recommendations once written up, approximately once every six weeks. A stipend will be paid per panel meeting, plus reasonable travel costs. Panel members would be contracted in the manner of an independent supplier and would be responsible for paying tax on their fee. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS ONLY.
