About this contract
To deliver an evidence-based oral health promotion service for identified individuals, communities and vulnerable groups in Nottinghamshire to maintain and improve their oral health. Oral health is an important part of general health and wellbeing. Oral health is integral to general health and should not be considered in isolation. Whilst there have been welcome improvements in the oral health of children and adults in England, significant inequalities remain. Therefore, Nottinghamshire County Council intends to deliver an evidence-based oral health promotion service driven by local need and incorporating best practice for identified individuals, communities and vulnerable groups in Nottinghamshire, to maintain and improve their oral health. This outcome focused delivery is for children, young people and adults (including vulnerable groups and older people) across the county of Nottinghamshire. This aim will be achieved by a number of key activities including: delivering a sustainable training programme, disseminating evidence- based oral health resources, delivering a tooth-brushing programme, awareness campaigns, collaborating and partnering with other key organisations.
