About this contract

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) as lead authority, are inviting Tenders for the provision of aids and adaptation works across Warwickshire for the HEART Partnership. The Home Environmental Assessment and Response Team (HEART) is a partnership service between Warwickshire Councils that provide advice and assistance to deliver disabled adaptations and home improvements to keep homes safe, secure and warm. HEART assess customer needs and housing conditions and provide you with tailored advice and support on a range of issues including: o Home aids and adaptations; o Housing conditions, repairs and safety matters; o Benefits, grants or loans for essential building works. The HEART service covers the Warwickshire area (Nuneaton and Bedworth, North Warwickshire and Rugby known as North HEART as well as Leamington, Warwick and Stratford known as South HEART) and is for owner occupied and privately owned properties (i.e. not Council owned stocked). Subject to an assessment undertaken by the caseworker, the service identifies the needs of its customers to assist them in achieving a better quality of life. HEART arrange for: o Large adaptations like stair lifts, level access showers, room conversions and extensions. o Remove any category 1 hazards which have been identified using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System. o Minor adaptations through HEARTs Home Safety Grant e.g. grabrails, stair rails, half steps, threshold strips, keysafes. HEART covers the Warwickshire region and is divided into two delivery areas: o North HEART - the district boundaries of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council and Rugby Borough Council; and o South HEART - the district boundaries of Stratford District Council and Warwick District Council. The intention of this procurement and subsequent Framework Agreement is to cover the disabled aids, adaptations and associated works required by HEART and the Private Sector Housing Team through one master Framework Agreement. This works relate to disabled facilities grants (DFG's), Warm and Safer Home grant works (WASH) as well as the Home Safety grant works in addition to any infrequent private sector housing construction works. This procurement and subsequent framework agreement is therefore split into several Lots. For more information, please view the tender documents.
