About this contract

The University is looking to appoint FIRAS or equivalent, certified contractors to undertake fire stopping installations and repairs within existing buildings. The work will be carried out in occupied buildings. The Newcastle University campus is located in the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. The campus consists of many buildings which vary in age and construction, a number of which are listed buildings. The following link will provide you with a map of the campus: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/about/visit/maps.htm The appointed contractors shall comply with the university rules for contractors (set out in the Contractors Induction Booklet, technical specification and other appendices attached to the tender portal) and shall be mindful of the activities within the building. Noisy work may have to be carried out at specific times.
