About this contract
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) is seeking expressions of interest from experienced contractors, for the internal reconfiguration and services upgrade at the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Building within the British High Commission compound in New Delhi, India. Additional information: The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), on behalf of the UKVI department of the Home Office is intending to reconfigure the internal layout and replace existing services within the UKVI building on the British High Commission compound in New Delhi, India. The contractor is required to carry out the fit out to provide an office which meets UK or similar approved standards. Some areas of work will be reserved for other specialist trades and not form part of this contract. The subject of this enquiry would be the reconfiguration of two floors of approximately 1700m2 in order to provide more office space to accommodate greater staffing numbers. The works will comprise of reconfigured partitioning, subsequent fit out and decoration and the replacement of end of life mechanical and electrical services, including a new VAV/VRF system, electrical re-wire and new Cat6 data cabling. Minor external works are also required in providing a new fire escape and new fencing. The scope will include delivery of work to designs developed by our architects, mechanical, and electrical engineers. The contractor will be expected to review and finalise these largely developed designs for our approval and subsequent construction. The project will be procured using the NEC3 Option A contract, the building will be occupied throughout and so careful planning and coordination of work will be required. Sectional completion will be required to complete and handover one floor at a time. Contractors should be aware of material delivery procedures into India, and visas requirements for workforce and staff. We would recommend that any interested contractor should consider making preparations for visa applications to visit India in anticipation of attending the bidders conference (not mandatory) noted below. Should they do so the Authority will accept no responsibility for any costs incurred whether or not they are successful with this PQQ.
