About this contract
This project is to undertake scientific testing of a new (hand-held) soil coring tool against the existing soil coring approach (cores encased in plastic tubing) and the standard method of small pit excavation for Natural England's Long Term Monitoring Network. This project requires undertaking field sampling using the three methods across a range of soil types, and subsequent laboratory processing of samples to determine bulk density. The contractor will provide specified field observations and resulting data to Natural England in the form of spreadsheets and a brief written report. Additional information: To apply please respond to the attached Request for Quotation. Responses should be emailed to matthew.j.shepherd@naturalengland.org.uk and victoria.sloan@naturalengland.org.uk quoting reference "LTMNSOIL - SAMPLING METHOD COMPARISON" and "Final Submission", no later than 12:00 on 2nd December 2022. Clarification questions can be submitted by emailing the above addressed prior to 25th November 2022; noting that unless commercially sensitive, the question and response will be circulated to all tenderers.
