The overarching aim of this programme is to contribute to the reduction in gang, violence and exploitation related harm experienced by girls and young women.
This aim is long term and the following programme outcomes will work towards achieving it.
- Improved, contemporary understanding of the needs of this cohort beyond the gang member narrative.
- Improved identification of girls and young women impacted by gangs, violence and exploitation.
- Improved understanding of ‘what works’ to best support this cohort.
Additional outcomes related to the activity of the grant funded local girls and young women’s groups will be developed collaboratively with the provider but are expected to broadly align with the outcomes framework for the Violence and Exploitation Support Service (VESS) (Appendix D).
There are overlapping phases to the delivery of this programme spanning the following, which are then further detailed below:
- To lead on the grant funding, and subsequent grant management, of local girls and young women’s groups.
- To lead on the provision of support for local groups including learning and development for practitioners.
- To lead on the development and delivery of co-design and coproduction activities.
- To lead on monitoring and evaluation. Additional information: The total budget available for the delivery of the requirements as noted in the specification, for the contract period is £250k. The Provider shall manage a grant fund of up to £610k.
The breakdown of the budget noted above for each year of the contract is noted below –
Year 1 (9th June 2025 to 8th June 2026) - £114,284 for delivery of the service, £610k of grant funding. Total - £724,284
