About this contract

Chelmsford City Council is seeking expressions of interest from suppliers of modular and portable buildings to add to its portfolio of residential accommodation for use as self-contained accommodation for households on a temporary basis. The Council is seeking between 8 and 50 accommodation units that can be constructed relatively quickly and manufactured off-site, that have a lifespan of at least 50 years and offers a minimum of 27 sqm to provide kitchen, living, sleeping and bathroom facilities as well as storage space with independent access. The accommodation should also be capable of being stacked to a maximum of 3 units high. The Council requires a combination of single and double bedroom units of estimated sizes 25' x 12' and 40' x 12'. The accommodation must meet relevant fire safety standards and relevant building regulations. Full details will be available in subsequent Invitation to tender documents.
