About this contract
To provide a Mobile Lithotripsy Service to Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for the support of our Urology Department. The Trust envisages a contract for the period of two years with the option to extend for an additional one year with anticipated commencement of service October 2016. The mobile service is to deliver extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy and extracorporeal shockwave treatment; the service should be equipped with both x- ray and ultrasound localisation. The Trust would also like this service to cover Tendonitis for our Orthopaedic patients ideally. The numbers of sessions are anticipated at 18 per year but may vary. The contractor must work with the Trust to ensure that an agreed set of procedures as required under the ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 (IRMER) are in place. The contractor should carry out regular patient radiation dose audit (as required by IRR99 and IRMER) and provide the Trusts with the results and suggested Diagnostic Reference levels for this work.
