About this contract
The Diplomatic Academy, launched in 2015, is a centre of excellence for the FCO to ensure that staff have the knowledge and expertise needed to represent the UK and pursue the national interest. It is a resource for all staff working for the FCO at all grades, at home and overseas. The Diplomatic Academy is intended to be a learning hub to enable FCO staff to share knowledge, expertise and experience of working internationally for the UK. It provides both a formal curriculum as well as informal opportunities for learning. Learning is delivered through eleven faculties which cover the key areas of FCO work. There is a three-tiered structure of skills and knowledge: Foundation, Practitioner and Expert. The high level descriptors (key curriculum) for the States and Societies faculty are still being developed, but in broad terms Practitioner level is an intermediate level seeking to support development of skills, in-depth knowledge/experience and behaviour required to be effective in a specific area. This is in contrast to Foundation level which is intended to be introductory. The MENA – History, Politics and Societies Course is intended to be practitioner level course sitting within the States and Societies faculty. The course has received funding for 3 financial years, starting this year Additional information: Please make sure you submit your bid and supporting evidence no later then 12:00hrs Wednesday 23rd March 16.
