The PQQ process is to establish market capability to carry out the required works within the time period indicated. It is the Client's intent to follow up the PQQ responses with a tendering process with a view to award a Marine Nearshore GI Boreholes contract based on a detailed RFP process. Sea Link has already undertaken a cable route survey of the corridor for the planned marine corridor, including the nearshore and landfall zones to the location of the Transition Joint Bay Compound. Sea Link has committed to trenchless solutions for the beach crossings at the Suffolk landfall, Aldeburgh as well as the Kent landfall Pegwell Bay. Nearshore boreholes to collect geotechnical and physical core data are required at each landfall. Access to the sampling sites is presumed from the marine environment, due to the environmental sensitivity of the landfalls and exposure to coastal processes, requiring specialised equipment and appropriate methodologies which have been subject to thorough risk assessments. The Kent locations are on mudflats which are exposed at low water. Completion of the acquisition, testing and reporting needs to be completed no later than Q2 2024 subject to relevant consents and permits being in place. The Employer will provide detailed technical specifications for Tenderer to comply with at the RFP stage (stage 2).Value not published
