About this contract

The project is for a single storey one classroom nursery and associated external works within the site of Luton Primary School, Chatham in Kent. The existing nursery building is no longer fit for purpose, necessitating its replacement by a new facility compliant with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework The works comprise the demolition of the existing prefabricated classroom block and external store, construction of the new (modular) nursery building (with a different footprint and, hence, on new foundations), relocation of the early years play area and reconfiguration of fencing and gates to provide direct secure access to the early years building. A private section of highway from which the nursery will be accessed (Alexandra Road) also serves as a staff car park for all staff (including the primary school). The tender information reflects design development to stage 3, with stage 4 due to be carried out by the contractor. Residual design responsibilities will form part of the contract - all aspects of the modular nursery building, substructures and aspects of the external works.
