About this contract
CPC intends to put a framework agreement in place with suitable suppliers for the supply of Library Resources. The framework will include the provision of books, e-books, journals / periodicals, e-journals, au-dio books, audio summaries, library discovery services and associated services to CPC members. This is a re-tender of our Library Resources framework which was originally let in April 2012 and spend through the existing framework from May 2012 to April 2016 was just in excess of £11 million. We expect this level of business to be maintained however there is no guaranteed expenditure on this agreement. The competitiveness, level of service offered and marketing effort in the resulting Agreements will be a large factor in determining how many Institutions support the contract. CPC are looking for Suppliers who will actively promote and market the agreement. The purpose of this framework agreement is to give EU cover and allow CPC members and other bodies to purchase at a substantial and demonstrable discount relative to the marketplace throughout the term of the framework agreement. The framework terms should apply to all eligible users of the framework agreement. The estimated framework value is about £11million over a four year period and the framework has been split is split into 4 Lots as follows: - Lot 1 - Library Books & Associated Services Lot 2 - Library E-Books & Associated Services Lot 3 - Journals / Periodicals, E-Journals & Associated Services Lot 4 - Library Discovery Services It is a requirement of the Tender that the selected supplier(s) extend the terms to all eligible Institutions and Consortia, as defined by the CPC including further education colleges/institutions, universities, sixth forms, academies, schools, museums and other similar organisations. The tender is also available for Higher Education institutions via our colleagues in other Consortia. As per our joint contracting programme other bodies that could potentially be interested in access-ing the agreement include NWUPC (North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium). CPC reserves the right during the period of this agreement to make additions to or subtractions from the list of participating Institutions and Consortia. The right is also reserved to negotiate the inclusion of other users who are outside the main scope of this Framework Agreement.
