About this contract

Cornwall Council is delivering the One Public Transport System for Cornwall (OPTSfC) Project to create a single integrated public transport network. A key driver and objective of the project is: to provide a high quality, accessible and integrated public transport network, developed to increase patronage on bus and rail and bring about an upturn in revenue income and service sustainability. Through the OPTSfC project, Cornwall Council is working in partnership with Cormac Solutions on an Integrated Transport Improvement Programme (ITIP) to invest in numerous bus stop upgrades, improvements to stop locations and bus shelter provision to enhance the facilities for the public. Cornwall Council's ambition for improvements to the quality and extent of the bus network required across the County also needs to be complemented by necessary and appropriate high quality roadside infrastructure. Corserv on behalf of Cormac Solutions is therefore seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced manufacturer to produce, deliver and install, as may be required in varying volumes, bus shelters in Cornwall in support of the Integrated Transport Improvement Programme. The appointed manufacturer will be required to provide shelters, as may be specified, by authorised representatives of Cormac Solutions. Whilst there are no guaranteed quantities or expenditure commitments, shelters are required to primarily meet the needs of the Council's ITIP but will also cover any wider schemes and projects that Cormac Solutions and/or Cornwall Council has to deliver such as s278 works or s106 funding works etc as and when they arise. So far as part of the ITIP Cormac Solutions has improved almost 300 bus stops and is currently engaged in the design and consultation of approximately 200 sites, several of which will require new shelters. The ITIP is likely to continue until the entire infrastructure of Cornwall's transport network has been totally modernised. Potential bidders must be able to meet the full scope and requirements of this tender opportunity. The intention is to appoint the most competitively priced bidder.
