About this contract
St Ives Town Council in CORNWALL is working with St Ives Archive, to undertake the refurbishment of an historic listed building in the heart of St Ives - the Market House. Grant funding has been secured to refurbish the building and renovate the first floor. This will see the Archive relocated from its current premises, back into the heart of St Ives, enhancing its long-term sustainability by increasing visibility and footfall. This contract involves creating a new access at ground floor level through a former retail unit, an accessible toilet, replacement of staircase and lift access to the first floor. General external repair and refurbishment works and internal refurbishment of the first floor of Market House, including floor strengthening works, ready for the Archive to complete their fit out of the space. PLEASE NOTE: due to grant funding, the timescales for the work are very short, to be completed by June 2025. The contract would be especially suited to local contractors familiar with St Ives and the site constraints, able to mobilise and start on site quickly. The Council positively supports SME businesses and is willing to provide guidance and clarifications through the bidding process. Bidders can access all documents and details of how to apply through the Council's website https://stivestowncouncil-cornwall.gov.uk/info-page/invitation-to-tender-stives-itt-00011-24-the-market-house-refurbishment-and-associated-works-market-place-st-ives-cornwall-tr26-1rz/
