About this contract
Wirral Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced providers for the provision of Community Substance Misuse Services for Wirral. This contract will provide a quality service that is effective and is able support real and sustainable positive change to local residents affected by substance misuse. The service will adopt a flexible and innovative approach to delivery in order to reduce and eliminate the stigma often associated with accessing treatment and support. It will take a person-centred, holistic approach, working to address the physical and mental health needs of service users and the social and psychological issues associated with the misuse of substances. This will include improving access to employment, education, training, income, stable housing, social support, and other factors as necessary to improve their health and wellbeing and to sustain recovery. The Service will be modern, integrated and recovery orientated. It will develop innovative and dynamic approaches to: • Developing a Place Based Care system approach. • Reducing stigma to enable improved access to treatment and support. • Strengthening families and reducing cycles of harm. • Improving service user health and mental wellbeing. • Promoting Recovery.
