About this contract

There is a requirement to provide a Level 4 HNC Marine Engineering course to internally identified high achieving apprentices enrolled within the Level 3 Waterfront Apprentice Scheme. This will allow HNC delivery to be incorporated during phase two and three of the Level 3 Waterfront Apprenticeship scheme improving the engineering competence of identified individuals that graduate from the scheme so that when they enter the business permanently, their advanced capability will become of benefit from day one. The requirement also provides a defined route for ‘high potential’ individuals to progress onto Level 4 qualifications during their apprenticeship or immediately after their apprenticeship has successfully been concluded leading to increased attraction in the Apprenticeship Scheme. The number of individuals undertaking the HNC is expected to vary each year, with a maximum number from September 2025 being 30. The HNC will be accessible to high achievers with a desire to complete the HNC during their Waterfront Apprenticeship scheme.
