About this contract
As part of its day-to-day operations, Dorset Highways generate a range of waste materials including asphalt concrete road planings, mixed inert waste, soils and gully waste. Dorset Highways optimise waste minimisation, re-use and recycling opportunities wherever possible but where this is not practical, waste arisings are transported to a range of recycling and waste facilities for treatment/ disposal. To provide a facility for the recycling and/or disposal of highways waste materials in Dorset, to include the following waste types: • Receive segregated organic waste (EWC Code 20 02 01 or 02 01 03) • Receive segregated waste wood (EWC Code 17 02 01) • Receive excavated mixed asphalt waste (EWC Code 17 03 02) • Receive segregated asphalt concrete road planings (EWC Code 17 03 02) • Receive mixed construction and demolition waste (EWC Code 17 09 04 or 17 01 07) • Receive segregated concrete (EWC Code 17 01 01) • Receive mixed concrete and hardcore (EWC Code 17 01 01) • Receive segregated gully/ mechanical sweeper waste (EWC Code 20 03 03) • Receive mixed inert soil, concrete and hardcore (EWC Code 17 05 04) • Receive segregated top soil (EWC Code 17 05 04 ) • Receive segregated sub soil (EWC Code 17 05 04) • Receive mixed soils and clays EWC Code 17 05 04) • Receive residual waste (EWC Code 20 03 01) The requirement is for Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.
