About this contract

The MHRA science labs located at the South Mimms site and the organisation have numerous floor standing Ultracentrifuges and high speed centrifuges from a single manufacturer across the site. The Ultracentrifuges are used flexibly for a range of laboratory techniques including the purification of viruses, or the extraction of viral/bacterial nucleic acid. Around half of the ultracentrifuges are used in high containment areas.<br/><br/>The various rotors used are compatible across the range of centrifuges and it is required that there shall be no loss of service as and when new centrifuges are installed.<br/><br/>The restricted tender shall consist of 3 lots as described below.<br/>i) Supply, install and provide training for floor standing laboratory centrifuges from the same manufacturer, upto ultra performance speeds. <br/>ii) During the transition phase to provide own rotors and Beckman Coulter rotors (or compatible equivalents), that are necessary to allow MHRA to continue to operate efficiently.<br/>iii) Provide ongoing maintenance, calibration and certification services for MHRA’s entire fleet of centrifuges.<br/><br/>Tenderers who have the capability are invited to Express their Interest in the first instance by registering and replying to this PIN.
