About this contract

The project consists of the supply and erection of mobile platforms/independent tubular scaffolding to enable the installation of snow guards, replacement of roof coverings and address high level dilapidation works in various locations. The purpose of this scheme is to improve the safety of children/visitors within the children's play area and reduce the risk of falling slates/tiles/rainwater goods to elevations of Blocks D, E, G, P, M, N, and Y. To provide safe access for the supply and installation of snow guards to the pitched roof elevations bordering the play area. To repair and make safe all identified roofing/structural issues (eg slipped/loose/missing slates /tiles are to be replaced with new and to be securely installed). To remove all vegetation growth from between mortar joints of brickwork, between ridge and hip tiles and between joints of terracotta structures and to make good following this removal. To remove existing defective external door leading to flat roof at end elevation of N Block. Supply and install new solid core external quality door and redecorate doorset on completion. To identified locations remove all defective sections of cast iron rainwater goods and replace with new. To redecorate new and existing accessible rainwater goods. To provide new 'laid-to-falls' roof decking and roof covering to flat roof above OPD in P Block. To provide water proof tanking to floor of water tank house in M Block. Contract length - to be discussed and agreed.
