About this contract

Selby District Council provides a fortnightly garden waste collection service to approximately 31,000 domestic properties across the district. The collection service is suspended for a four week period from the middle of December to the middle of January when collection resources are assigned to other duties. Annually we collect approximately 9,000 tonnes of garden waste that is composted at several locations around the district. Due to the nature of garden waste the tonnages collected vary from season to season. Set out below are the monthly tonnages for the last twelve months from March 2015 to April 2016. Month Tonnage March 482.46 April 1016 May 1053.06 June 1233.06 July 1097.52 August 938.5 September 1061.4 October 847.14 November 617.8 December 151.78 January 253.78 February 272.52 TOTALS 9025.02 The Council is seeking suitably qualified / accredited organisations to provide a garden waste composting / recycling service for an initial period of three years, with an option to extend for a further year.
