About this contract

Drivers Medical Group currently employs 39 Medical Advisors (MA) and 1 Senior Medical Advisor (SMA) but this may increase or decrease. 2.2As a group they are responsible for applying the medical standards for driver licensing in Great Britain, representing the Secretary of State at appeals and advising the medical profession on medical aspects of fitness to drive. 2.3Since December 2012 licensed doctors have been required to have an annual appraisal based on the GMC's (General Medical Council) Good Medical Practice Framework. Medical appraisal is a process of facilitated self-review supported by information gathered from the full scope of a doctor's work. The appraisal forms a mandatory requirement of the GMCs 5 year licence revalidation cycle. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
