About this contract

A scheme is required to improve the access routes around 11No sheltered bungalows at Meadow Close, Newton. The properties to be included are 1,2,3,4,5,6,15,16,17,18 and 19 Meadow Close. It is anticipated that the works will involve the replacement of existing paths around each bungalow including excavation of soil/ vegetation to a depth of at least 100mm, laying a compacted sand bed, new concrete flags and suitable edging. The width of the new paving should be at least 1800mm to facilitiate the use of wheelchairs/mobility scooters. It maybe necessary to adjust perimeter fencing to accomodate. In addition to this the installation of a drop kerb at Heald Farm Court is required in the main car park to allow wheelchair users to access the paved area without having to travel over the gulley. Initial designs and consultation should be carried out in conjunction with Paula Underwood (or a nominated member of the Helena Extra team) to ensure the designs are fit for purpose and the vulnerability of residents is taken into consideration. A copy of the contract specification detailing the works can be downloaded from this link along with an excel document to assist with pricing purposes.
