About this contract
The Web is a vast universe of information that has the potential to contribute strongly to future Defence. Much of the recent growth of the Web is thought to reside in the Deep Web; the region of the Web that traditional, commercial search engines (and their associated crawlers) have little or limited ability to index and make accessible to users. This solicitation for research seeks the innovation and implemention of novel technology to ‘surface’ Deep Web content. This work will contribute towards supporting a Defence capability that achieves a domain-specific and deep retrieval of information. Three technical challenges are offered to bound this solicitation for research. Suppliers are invited to propose novel research to satisfy one of the challenges, under the constraint of available funding and time. If you would like to receive the full Invitation To Tender (ITT) documentation please email Mr M van Leuven (jmvleuven@dstl.gov.uk) requesting a copy with an email reference R1000110885 - Deep Web.
