About this contract
Research towards a biosurveillance (BSV) system, is required by MoD. It will aim to provide early warning, situational awareness and forecasting of disease activity in an operational context. Outbreaks may be caused by naturally occurring infections, accidental contamination or deliberate biological attacks. A BSV capability will need to fuse data from disparate military and civilian sources, to provide decision-makers with a comprehensive daily picture of disease activity within an Area of Interest (AOI). The aim of this work is to further develop and demonstrate a working prototype BSV data fusion method, utilising simulated data based on currently available data sources, and provide Open Source code for the data fusion with documentation commensurate with Technical Readiness Level (TRL) 3.
