About this contract
The Faculty of Engineering and Environment at Northumbria University is undergoing expansion and enhancement of its engineering materials facilities and is looking to purchase a secondary ion mass spectrometer (SIMS) for the chemical analysis of samples. The system must be ideally suited for the analysis of inorganic multilayer layer structures such as photovoltaic thin film devices (chalcopyrite and kesterite) and III-V multijunction or quantum dot solar cells as well as other multi-layer structures for application such as anti-corrosion and wear-resistant and biocompatible coatings. The system must be capable of elemental surface analysis, and excel in-depth profiling with high depth and mass resolution and be capable of 3D data analysis with good lateral resolution. The system must be capable of simultaneous acquisition of both positive and negative species. anti-corrosion and wear-resistant and biocompatible coatings.
