About this contract
NOTE: This notice was updated on 30 April 2018 for the following reason: Please note that the deadline for submitting tenders have been extended to 02/05/18 17:00.The project aims to support the planning of rail decarbonisation, providing an outlook of future traction energy technologies, as well as the associated costs and benefits. This is planned to help support the industry in transitioning towards decarbonised traction across the network. By developing options around technology developments, building an economic model to act as a decision support tool, and formulating a roadmap(s), this project should support the industry's transition to new forms of traction. In turn, this will support the 'Optimum Energy Use' Key Capability and complement the wider industry response to Jo Johnson's call for 'decarbonising rail'. Further details can be found in the invitation to tender documents. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
