About this contract
•Provide an understanding of the system costs of supplying hydrogen and battery power for rail traction purposes based on a consistent pricing methodology aligned with DfT's Transport Appraisal Guidance (TAG). The study will not consider the cost of hydrogen and battery trains themselves, but will consider everything needed to get energy to the train, whether in the form of hydrogen or electricity for battery charging. This should include analysis of all credible and appropriate ways to generate, transport, store and deliver hydrogen, and generate, distribute, store and deliver electricity for battery charging, including other than from the national grid supply. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
